Shasta County Precinct Project
Precinct Captain – Shasta County Republican Central Committee
Overview
Precinct Captains are the backbone of our grassroots movement in Shasta County. This is the most essential volunteer role within the local Republican Party—because elections are won at the doorstep, not in the boardroom. Precinct Captains build personal relationships, connect with voters, share conservative values, identify supporters, and drive turnout. The work you do on your street and in your neighborhood has a direct impact on local, state, and national races.
⸻
What Does a Precinct Captain Do?
Precinct Captains serve as the eyes, ears, and voice of the Shasta County Republican Party in their neighborhood. In this role, you will:
• Build personal relationships with Republican and unaffiliated voters through friendly, neighbor-to-neighbor outreach
• Listen to community concerns and show how Republican candidates and policies address those issues
• Register new Republican voters and keep local registration strong
• Distribute campaign literature, place yard signs, make phone calls, and mobilize supporters
• Recruit and lead a team of precinct volunteers
• Provide real-time, ground-level feedback to party leadership
No amount of advertising can compete with the influence of a trusted neighbor having an honest conversation at the door.
⸻
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Learn your precinct—its boundaries, voter rolls, and community makeup.
2. Connect regularly with Republican and unaffiliated voters through door-knocking, calls, and conversations.

10. Attend committee meetings, trainings, and official events.
11. Promote Republican principles through community involvement, letters to the editor, social media, and outreach.
12. Recruit and recommend qualified Republican election judges.
